Sarah joined our team as a Silicone Technician in 2015 and is now the Head of Silicone R&D and Training and remains hands on in the creation of high-definition silicone solutions.

Sarah’s career started after studying Modelmaking at the Arts University Bournemouth. Following her degree, she went on to work in stop motion and industrial model making. Sarah was keen to utilise her skills in helping others, and felt that Dorset Orthopaedic was the perfect opportunity to do this. Currently Sarah’s day to day role includes supporting trainees and trainers, whilst helping to develop and evolve their training journey. Also managing R&D projects and developing new innovative solutions, as well as working in day-to-day production and seeing patients.

Silicone by Dorset Orthopaedic have a multitude of international clinical partners where a visiting service is provided. One of Sarah’s favourite parts of the role is the opportunity to travel as well as the rewarding nature of seeing patients from their first colour appointment through to their final delivery, and seeing the positive impact it has.

Outside of work, Sarah is kept busy with a young family visiting the beach and spending time outside. She loves to try anything ‘crafty’ and likes to pick up new skills, such as taking a plastering course to help renovate her home.
